Some Health Facts – The real skinny?

0
0

Consider

  • 2 out of 3 of us are overweight or obese
  • 7 out of 10 people regularly take at least one prescription medication
  • More than half of us take two prescription medications, and 20% (1 out of 5) of Americans are on at least FIVE prescription medications
  • Chronic inflammatory disease rates continue to rise, and these conditions are now affecting young and old alike—we’re not talking just “old age arthritis” anymore
  • 80 autoimmune diseases have been identified so

Why?

One obvious answer is that our ‘healthcare system is focused on illness and disease (if you have an illness you can make a drug for it).

Not to be overly critical, but as the majority of ‘health care research money comes from drug companies – there is little incentive for health and a lot of incentive to have illness

( Not to ‘make us ‘ ill – but to ‘cure’ symptoms – as opposed to spending money on creating a healthy non drug taking – non fancy high tech hospital machine testing – population)

(Most of hospital’s money comes from Big Pharma, Food Companies and Companies that make such things as MRI machines etc.)

Now, when you’re talking about encouraging great health and preventing disease, there are a lot of factors that come into play—quitting smoking, not drinking alcohol to excess, getting regular exercise and reducing stress (not being poor?)

Without doubt nothing dictates whether you will be fat or thin, medicated or not, or healthy or diseased more than the food you choose to eat – your diet.

What complicates this situation even more is that the average person is inundated with volumes of worthless dietary advice coming at them in all directions…to the point where they don’t know what to believe!

And it makes a big difference depending on who’s doing the talking too.

When you’re being given “healthy” diet advice by a source that is tied to a food company or pharmaceutical company, you can bet the advice will be appropriately slanted.(Companies exist to make profits- period – and good on them)

Below is ‘health and diet’ information that is well known and taught by a multitude of organsiations that are sincerely health based – with no corporate incentives. Such as:
